How to travel by plane
There are four major airports nearby. It depends which Country you are flying from and the date you arrive, one airport may be better than another in terms of easier arrival. Generally speaking, the best airport with the best connectivity is Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup. For those traveling from a European Country, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport can be another good option. The third option is Stockholm Arlanda Airport which requires more travel time. Lastly, Stockholm Skavsta Airport is an international airport near Nyköping, 100 kilometers (62 mi) southwest of Stockholm: from this airport, you can take an airport bus to the central station for train connections.
How to travel by train/car
If you decide to come by train, the airport Copenhagen Airport Kastrup is the best and fastest solution usually. We recommend using the SJ – Trains in Sweden app (iPhone, Android), entering Vetlanda as the arrival station. If you’re coming by train, please let us know in the RSVP section for suggestions and rides.
If you decide to hire a car (which we suggest), the fastest route by car is from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, travel time: 2h30m to 3h, via Jönköping. Travel time by car from Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Copenhagen Airport is about the same, about 3h 40m to 4h 50m, depends on the traffic.
Where to stay
For the night of February 18th, there are essentially three options:
A room in the Christian center close to the restaurant where the celebration takes place
Only for the night of February 18th (but the reservation can be extended), 7 rooms with 4 beds each in the building (photo below) located 2 minutes’ walk from the restaurant, have been preliminarily booked. The bathroom is shared but the building is not shared with external people (except 1 room occupied by staff), moreover the price is cheaper than a hotel room (50 euros/500 Swedish kroner for each room). Priority goes to people coming from outside Sweden.
A room in a hotel in Eksjö
A room in a hotel in Vetlanda (30m drive from Eksjö)
For those interested in staying more than one night, the days before and after February 18th, the options remain the same: you can decide to stay in Vetlanda and then stay in Eksjö on the night of February 18th, or stay the whole period in Eksjö. Petter and I are based in Vetlanda, so please write your departure and arrival dates in the RSVP section so that we can organise little trips with you the days before and after the wedding.
